REHEARSALS

All rehearsals take place in Worcester Cathedral on Monday evening from 7.30 p.m. until 9.30 p.m. Rehearsals on concert days take place at the concert venue normally commencing at 1.45 p.m.  Our first rehearsal for the AutumnTerm will be on Monday 6th September 2010.

As a member of the Choir you are expected to participate in all concerts in which the Choir is engaged and to attend as many rehearsals as possible. We expect members to be at a minimum of 75% of rehearsals. The rehearsal programme provides information about our schedule and includes forthcoming concerts and other events.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

The subscriptions for the year 2010 –11 is £100 and covers the whole season irrespective of how many concerts a member sings in. Membership for full time students from 16 – 18 is free and from 18-25 with NUS card is £10. The subscription must be paid by 1st October. Whilst we encourage everyone to pay the full amount by this date, it will be possible, by prior agreement with the Treasurer, to pay in two instalments, the second being by post-dated cheque dated 1st February 2011 to be handed in at the time of the first instalment. The Treasurer can also be approached on an individual basis for a reduced sub in cases of hardship.
  

 

 

Choir members can obtain concert tickets from our Ticket Secretary or at our Monday rehearsals.

MUSIC

Music is provided free to members for all concerts with the exception of the Messiah. You will be expected to purchase your own copy of the Messiah – Watkins Shaw edition. Use our link to Amazon if you have not got a copy and need to buy one.

All borrowed music must be returned to our Librarian by the night of the concert. If for any reason you find that you are unable to sing in a concert then please return your music as soon as possible and at the latest at the last rehearsal before the concert. If you cannot bring it or send it via a friend to a Monday rehearsal then it can be delivered or posted to her home address; please contact our libtrian for details. contact us.

Every Choir member must have a WFCS folder to be used during concerts. These are issued to members on receipt of a £5 deposit, which is returnable when the member returns the folder on leaving the Choir. If you are a new member then please see the Librarian to obtain your folder.

DRESS

Men - black dinner suit, white shirt, black bow tie, black shoes. Ladies - Black skirt (to cover the knee when seated) or black smart trousers, long sleeved black top with collar or high neck, black shoes and accessories. Please avoid jewellery which flashes in the lights as this can be very distracting for the audience.
